The Top 10 Cowbell Songs:
UltimateClassicRock.com has put together a list of the Top 10 Cowbell Songs . . . and the ROLLING STONES song "Honky Tonk Women" came out on top.
BLUE OYSTER CULT'S "Don't Fear the Reaper" only came in third. That's interesting since it's the song that WILL FERRELL and "Saturday Night Live" used to launch the "more cowbell" phenomenon back in 2000.
Here's the list:
1.) "Honky Tonk Women", The Rolling Stones (1969)
2.) "We're an American Band", Grand Funk Railroad (1973)
3.) "Don't Fear the Reaper", Blue Oyster Cult (1976)
4.) "Hair of the Dog", Nazareth (1975)
5.) "Low Rider", War (1975)
6.) "Stone Free", Jimi Hendrix (1966)
7.) "Fool for the City", Foghat (1975)
8.) "Born on the Bayou", Creedence Clearwater Revival (1969)
9.) "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo", Rick Derringer (1970)
10.) "Moby Dick", Led Zeppelin (1969)
(Interesting Fact: Nine of these 10 cowbell tracks were released in the eight years between 1969 and 1976. Yes, the list was done by a classic rock site, but that's still a small time period to pack in a lot of cowbell.)

For the 27th Year in a Row, Football is America's Most Popular Sport:
Harris Interactive just released the results of their annual poll on the most popular sports in the U.S. And for the 27th year in a row, pro football came in first.
In their first survey, in 1985, 24% of Americans said pro football was their favorite sport, and 23% said baseball. In this most recent survey, the 2012 edition, 34% said pro football is their favorite . . . and only 16% said baseball.
College football came in third, with 11%. If you add up college and pro football . . . and at this point, the line is VERY blurred anyway . . . that means almost half of Americans say football is their favorite sport.
Auto racing came in fourth, with 8% of the vote. It's been consistently beating the NBA since 2003. Pro basketball came in fifth and hockey came in sixth. Even with the NHL strike, hockey beat out men's college basketball, which came in seventh.
Women's pro basketball, women's soccer, and women's golf all tied for last, getting less than 1% of the vote.
