BALLS- footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls, games of tag and doing cartwheels have all been banned during recess at one stupid school on Long Island! These poor kids have been failed by pussies running the school and will no doubt turn out to be weak if this kind of crap is allowed to continue.
This overprotective, trophy for everyone who comes to the game BS is why todays kids are fat, lazy and for the most part uninterested in anything physical. The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Parents who are so damned concerned with hurting feelings, and getting hurt playing on the play ground are hurting their kids even more, by raising them to fear getting hurt and loosing. Guess what mom's and dad's- you get hurt every day , you loose every day, and thats how you become a better winner. Learning by doing!
It's too bad my kids don't know what it's like to spin so fast and so long on a merry-go-round you puke your lunch up like a fully automatic chicken nugget shooter! Dodge ball, tether ball, kick ball, stick ball and other great American playground games teach our kids basic rules of sportsmanship of winning, loosing and getting your ass kicked and how to deal when you do. You get back up and do it again, until you kick their ass by becoming smarter, faster and better.
I say- PLAY, PLAY HARD, and keep PLAYING HARD and when you get hurt, get up and PLAY HARDER!
