Forgive me, friends. It's been a few days since my last update. The last couple of weeks have been a nonstop frenzy of activity. It seems that I'm wearing a lot of different hats these days.
No kidding. There's been something commanding my front-center laser-like, caffiene fueled focus every waking minute of every day. All last week, and even the weekend before seem like a fleeting blur, punctuated only by periodic short napping.
I woke from one of those naps to discover gas prices had skyrocketed by about 30 cents a gallon. Thanks, robber-barrons!
I'm not kidding about being swamped and overwhelmed, by the way.
Even my Outlook Mailbox is filling up fast...
Gee, Microsoft. I wonder why!
So: What to do about all of this?
As far as the high gas prices go, don't forget you can always click on THIS LINK on the left side of this page to find the cheapest gas prices in Memphis. If enough people are willing to go a little out of their way to get a cheaper price, it'll encourage prices to stay a little lower at the local level. Probably just a drop in the bucket when considering all the things that go into the price we pay at the pump...but it's a start.
As far as being too busy to hear myself think goes, I'm re-dedicating myself to writing more frequent and more interesting blogs. And in order to do that, I'm going to have to live a more interesting life. These days, my day off is usually spent catching up on sleep and doing laundry. BORING! It's essential that I take tihe time to take in culture and all it's trappings. The time-demanding attention-demanding minions will simply have to wait their turn.
I've really got to do something more interesting than dealing with the drudgery of domestic maintainence There are movies and TV shows to watch, books to read, news to keep up with, and even shopping to be done (for something other than groceries.)
Heck, I might even take my first real vacation in over a year and a half soon. It's been my experience that a little time off is great for blog content...and for the spirit in general.
Stay with me, my friend. It gets better...
