There's an old saying that goes something like:  If you don't like the weather in Memphis, wait around a few minutes.  It'll change."

That certainly seems to be what's happened in the last few days.  We went from Sunny 72 degree picnic weather to a 2 day monsoon, directly into sleet and freezing rain.

I've always thought that the mad rush to the grocery store for milk and bread whenever anything frozen is forecast is somewhat unnecessary.  If it turns out to be an ice storm, chances are you're going to lose power anyway, and all the stuff in the fridge will go bad before power is restored.  And if you were to get snowed in for a few days, chances are the last thing you're going to want to do is sit around eating bread and drinking milk.  I'm thinking that in such a situation, beer might be helpful. :-)
